HOT WATER MUSIC | "TILL THE WHEELS FALL OFF"
CD/LP | No Idea Records Reviewed: May 15th, 2008 "Till the Wheels Fall Off" is a collection of rare and hard to come by songs from one of the most influential bands in punk and hardcore. The record includes a bunch of outtakes, songs from splits and comps that were recorded after the release of their collection "Never Ender" (No Idea, 2001). I am one of those people who have discovered the greatness of HWM in recent years, which makes this record a perfect introduction to some of their more obscure work. The album is packed with goodies such as my new HWM favorite "Last Goodbyes" and a never before released tune called "Home" which will rock your socks off. Basically I like all the HWM songs on this record and I also dig some of the covers. Yep, there's a whole bunch of covers on here as well. I especially like to play air-guitar and tap my feet to of Leatherface's "Springtime" and "No Surrender" by Bruce Springsteen. I also dig the band's versions of Alkaline Trio's "Bleeder" and "Radio". Even better than the original, which is not always the case when it comes to cover-tunes. If you're a fan of Hot Water Music then you've probably already bought this one. If you're not a fan, go get it anyway. This compilation rules.
